Our history

Twelve members, one simple idea

Rambhai SACCO was established in 1986 by twelve members who saw a need that was not being met, a reliable, member-owned place to save and to borrow, run on trust rather than paperwork designed to keep people out.

What started as a small group pooling their savings has grown, deliberately and steadily, into a society trusted by 412 members today. We have stayed the same size in spirit even as we have grown in number, still answering to the people who save with us, not to outside shareholders.

Four decades on, that founding idea has not changed. Save together, lend fairly, and grow as a community.
